Bodhi Vipal® Meditation Techniques – Program Description
Overview
The Bodhi Vipal® meditation practices—"Bodhi" meaning moment of awareness in Sanskrit—are designed to foster present-moment awareness by calming the mind and allowing space for the inner witness, the observer of both physical and mental experiences without identification.
The primary goal of these techniques is to cultivate presence by quieting the mind, which by nature tends to oscillate between past and future. With regular practice, these meditations offer not only inner peace and balance, but also reconnect practitioners with the spirit within, encouraging them to listen to its voice.
Methodology
The Bodhi Vipal® method integrates a variety of meditative approaches, each with a specific purpose and centered on different forms of anchoring to promote presence.
Active meditations: These utilize movement—whether conscious, energetic, or cathartic—as a means to develop awareness and grounding in the body.
Still meditations: These emphasize breath awareness, conscious listening, tactile and olfactory sensations, mindful seeing, body scanning, visualization, creative imagination, and mantra chanting.
Walking meditations: Practiced in natural environments, these help participants find grounding and well-being through mindful walking. They are also suitable for Shinrin-Yoku (forest bathing) sessions held in wooded areas.
Certification and Qualifications
The complete Facilitator Training consists of 90 foundational hours. Upon completion, participants receive a certification that qualifies them to independently guide others in the core Bodhi Vipal® techniques.
Certified Facilitators may:
Organize and lead evening meditation groups in their local area
Host full-day meditation retreats
Assist during official retreats held by Vipal at the Zorba Il Buddha meditation center free of charge
Purpose of the Program
The Bodhi Vipal® Facilitator role was created to make these techniques more widely accessible and to support individuals in liberating themselves from conditioning through direct personal experience.
Facilitating meditation is a powerful way to deepen one’s own practice; there is no better teacher than personal experience shared with others. Facilitators will continue to grow through direct mentorship and ongoing support from Vipal.
Who the Program is For
This course is open to:
Individuals interested in hosting meditation evenings or retreats at home or with friends
Those committed to leading structured meditation groups and weekend retreats
Therapists and professionals in the holistic or medical fields who wish to integrate these tools into their work as complementary practices
The Role of the Facilitator
A Facilitator is someone who has been initiated into the Bodhi Vipal® method and is ready to share it with the world.
The method is the result of over 25 years of intensive personal work by Vipal, inspired by teachings from masters and shamans of various traditions.
Facilitators are not therapists or spiritual teachers. Rather, they serve as practical guides—supporting participants in understanding and maintaining their meditation practice.
While therapists and holistic practitioners are welcome to incorporate the techniques into their professional work, the Facilitator operates within a clear framework defined by Italian Law 4/2013 as a “Holistic Operator.” This designation requires only a recognized certificate of qualification, which is provided upon course completion.
Ongoing Support
Facilitators will receive both energetic and promotional support to establish their own meditation groups. They will become part of the Zorba Il Buddha network and be provided with a dedicated interactive webpage where they can share comments, photos, and program details.
They may also continue their development by assisting in weekly retreats led by Vipal at the Zorba Il Buddha meditation center.
